Transportation
Athens International Airport is located 33km southeast of Athens and is easily accessible via Attiki Odos, a six-lane motorway constituting the Athens City Ring Road.
Public transport to Athens and the port of Piraeus is provided by metro, railway and express airport buses, ensuring efficient transport for air travellers and facilitating linkage to key tourist attractions.

Public Buses
Six public bus routes serve exclusively the airport, connecting the greater area of Athens and Piraeus with the airport.

Where to buy: From the bus driver, all metro stations and public transport ticket outlets.
Passes: The monthly ticket cards are also valid on the above four lines and cost €38,00. For those meeting certain requirements, a discounted monthly card is also available for €19,00.
The penalty for not having a validated ticket is €32.00
All Express Buses disembark their passengers at the Departures Level and they depart from the designated area located at the inner curbside of the Arrivals Level, right outside the Intra Schengen area, between Doors 4-5.
Regional Buses - KTEL Express Service
Rafina - Athens Airport Markopoulo - Athens Airport Lavrio - Athens Airport Kalyvia - Athens Airport Keratea - Athens Airport
Buses depart from the Arrivals Level (close to Door 3) of Athens International Airport. Ticket prices for one-way trip is €3 for all services except for the port of Lavrio (€4).

Coaches
- Departing passengers are disembarked from coaches at designated areas on the Departures level.
- Arriving passengers can proceed to the coach holding area through Door 1 of the Arrivals level. Coaches make use of the designated area at the southern side of the Terminal Building.

SUBURBAN RAIL:
Athens International Airport is connected via the suburban Rail to Larissis Station (Athens Central Railway Station) with stops at:

Trains depart from the Airport every 15 minutes. The journey time from Athens International Airport to Larissis Station is approximately 38 minutes.
Athens International Airport is also connected via suburban rail to Korinthos. Trains depart every 2 hours and the journey time is 1hour and 20 minutes.

TAXI:
The airport is accessible by taxi on a 24-hour basis. Passengers reaching the Airport disembark at the Departures level, where they can proceed directly to the check-in counters. When leaving the airport, please make use of the taxi queue next to Door 3 of the Arrivals Level.

Receipt
According to the Greek Legislation, taxi drivers should provide upon request a receipt for the amount paid for transportation services. The receipt should also indicate the taxi registration number and the driver's name.
