The airport is located at the centre of Switzerland's road network with excellent connections to cities, including Zurich, Bern, Basel and St Gallen on the A20.
Trains run between Zurich main station and the airport every 10 minutes during peak periods (travel time: 10 minutes), and numerous inter-city and regional trains provide connections to all the main towns and cities in Switzerland.
Main destinations and frequency of services:
Berne, Basel, St. Gallen, Lucerne, Constance, Geneva, Lausanne, Zug: at least every 30 minutes;
Lugano: every hour.
By the way: the scheduled air traffic at Zurich Airport belongs to the “public transport” category, too. After all, these flights can be used by anyone and they take off and land according to a fixed timetable.

Services are also on hand, such as a Swiss railways travel centre, a post office, internet workstations, a service centre, customer services, a pharmacy/drugstore, a photo printing service, dry-cleaning and more. Airside shopping comprises more than 50 shops. The emphasis is on a good mix of goods rather than on competition. Layout and structure of the shopping areas help create clearly defined theme worlds which target and satisfy the needs and wishes of the various customer groups.
Duty Free: Switzerland continues to enjoy its status as a "duty-free island" within Europe: generously dimensioned duty-free shops serve to complement and complete the range of goods on offer.
FOOD&BEVERAGE:Full-service dining in the North Northwest Italian restaurant and the Far Eastern Asia, or self-service delights at the biggest food court in Switzerland – the culinary range on offer at Zurich Airport leaves virtually nothing to desire. Plus the unique atmosphere of Switzerland’s gateway to the world.
In addition to the restaurants, a large number of cafés, bars and an English pub are just the place for a relaxing drink and interesting encounters. Chances are you will meet a genuine globetrotter there! The observation deck, too, has quite a bit to offer in the culinary department – and the Aviolino on the deck of Dock B offers a special welcome to the youngest airport fans.
Airside or landside – a restaurant, café or bar is never more than a short walk away at Zurich Airport.
Customers who buy goods or eat/drink at our landside Shopping Center enjoy reduced-price parking: the first hour is free, two hours for only 3 Swiss francs. To qualify for this discount a total of 60 Swiss francs must be spent anywhere in the Shopping Center.
Time is a precious commodity. And Zurich Airport with its Conference Center is in the most time-saving location imaginable, with matchless transport connections – air, rail and road – for official or unofficial, national or international conferences and seminars.
