Málaga Airport has worked to improve the accessibility conditions and other airport services for people with reduced mobility (PRM). In recent years there have been major advances in the removal of physical barriers in the passenger terminals, car parks and accesses to the airport grounds.
Passengers and other users with problems of mobility and accessibility can get about the airport grounds comfortably, taking advantage of the services and facilities now provided thanks to the following actions undertaken:
The construction of lifts and ramps, some of them mechanical, so that that people with reduced mobility can access the different levels or floors inside the airport without the need to use stairs. The AENA information service (Green Jackets) and the Passenger Care Service (blue jackets) provide support to people with reduced mobility by accompanying them to the check-in desks and/or seats and facilitating the necessary equipment (wheelchairs, etc.). A lowering and raising area has been prepared for the vehicles of people with reduced mobility next to the entrances on the pavement outside the building. This area is duly sign-posted and the pavements have been lowered in line with regulations. The paving materials have also been changed. Aena has reserved seats for people with reduced mobility in the waiting areas situated in front of the security controls. Special conditions apply at the security controls in that a fast-access area has been prepared for people with reduced mobility, who no longer need to pass through the security filters. Instead a manual inspection is carried out with detectors. . On the other side of the security filters there are reserved seats for these people where they can wait until boarding. The seating area is located next to the handling company information desks. Similarly, the number of reserved seats at the boarding gates has been increased for people with reduced mobility. Finally, the airbridges have recently been adapted to facilitate and speed up the transfer of people with reduced mobility from the terminal to the aircraft and vice-versa, either by wheelchair or a special vehicle used by the handling companies (ambulift).
Is located near the airport. Airport transfer shuttle provided.
