I-45 runs from downtown Houston, past the airport, and also connects with major freeways and roads which serve the whole Gulf Coast industrial complex. Passengers can also easily reach various metropolitan areas, including Baytown, Freeport, Galena Park, Galveston and Pasadena.
Visitors to Hobby Airport have a variety of transfer and transportation options available to them once they arrive in Houston. This includes taxis, limousines, scheduled ground transportation shuttles, hotel/motel courtesy vans, and even public (metro bus) transportation. Services can take you to your nearby or downtown hotel or wherever your local travel takes you to in the surrounding area. Courtesy vans are operated by the various hotels / motels in and around the airport. Use the courtesy telephones in the baggage claim area to request pick-up for most hotels / motels in the airport area.
Regularly scheduled bus and shuttle service is provided by various carriers to locations throughout the Houston area. These carriers provide service at regular intervals from William P. Hobby Airport to hotels within the Houston Metropolitan area and to Galveston and College Station. These shuttles differ from taxis and chauffeured limousines in that they provide continuous service to certain areas.
For the latest information, schedules, and fares from IAH to the Astrodome, downtown, the Galleria, Greenway Plaza, the medical Center, Westside hotels and Hobby Airport see the ground Transportation counters in the baggage claim areas of each terminal building.
Public parking is available in a four-level garage which connects conveniently with the terminal building. Additional parking is available in one lot within walking distance of the terminal bringing total parking spaces to more than 4,000.

Automated External Defibrilators (AED):
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a leading cause of death resulting from an abrupt loss of heart function. Sudden death from cardiac arrest is a major health problem that has received much less publicity than heart attack. The American Heart Association (AHA) estimates that about 250,000 people die each year of coronary heart disease without ever being hospitalized. That's because about half of all deaths from heart disease - more than 680 Americans each day, are sudden deaths caused by cardiac arrest. The AHA also estimates that more than 50,000 of these lives could be saved if lifesaving Automated External Defibrillators (AED) were more widely available. An AED is a small user-friendly device that recognizes hearth rhythms and if necessary, will advise the user to deliver a shock in order to restore normal heart rhythm. The current national survival rate from sudden cardiac arrest is estimated at only five percent.

Located on the near south side of the Bayou City, relatively close to the center of town and the Medical Center, HOU is a major focus airport for discount airline Southwest Airlines.
Discount airlines JetBlue, AirTran Airways, and ATA Airlines also fly into Hobby in lieu of far larger Bush Intercontinental (IAH) on the far northern reaches of Houston.
