The Terminal has four parking structures: Garages A1 and B1, are adjacent to the Terminal. Garages A2 and B2 are located across the Terminal roadway.

A discounted rate of $1 per hour up to $12 per 24-hour period is offered for handicapped parking.

Height Restriction: Oversize vehicles may only be parked on the top levels of the A2 and B2 garages, which have a height clearance of 9' 4". These lots are located across the roadway from the terminal and are accessible from the departure level. Any vehicles taller than 9’ 4” should be parked in the Main Street lot.
MAIN STREET PARKING
The Main Street Lot is open from 4:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and has the lowest daily parking rate with complimentary shuttle service to the Terminal every 15 minutes. All parking lots remain open after hours to serve arriving passengers.

PASSENGER PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF
When picking up passengers, it is best to park in the Terminal garages. The rate is an economical $1 per hour, and dedicated two-hour parking spaces are available in the A1 and B1 garages. You can then wait for your party either in the ticket counter area on the departure level or in the baggage claim area on the arrival level. Only ticketed passengers are allowed beyond the security checkpoints.
Vehicles may briefly stop at the white curb for dropping off and picking up passengers — be careful not to stop at a red curb or other restricted areas as citations can be issued. During peak hours the arrival level roadway can get very congested. Allowing enough time and parking your car will help you to experience a less stressful experience. Curbside parking is not allowed.

Ground Transportation Services
John Wayne Airport offers a variety of Ground Transportation services.
Rental car counters are on the lower level between the two baggage claim areas. The rental car pickup and drop-off area for on-site rental car companies is on the lower level of the Ground Transportation Center.
Phone courtesy center boards are placed in the baggage claim areas for assistance with contacting local hotels to arrange a pick-up.
Reservations for taxi or shuttle transportation are not needed. These services are offered in the Ground Transportation Center, which can be easily reached by crossing the signal light near the John Wayne Statue. Taxi or shuttle coordinator are available for assistance with transportation needs. For faster service, it is recommended to make reservations for wheelchair accessible van.

NATIONAL AIRPORTS GROUP OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
SANTA ANA, Calif. – John Wayne Airport (JWA) today announced that Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA), the leading trade association of commercial airports across North America, is accepting applications for its 2006 Commissioners Committee Scholarship. JWA is one of more than 180 North American airport members of ACI-NA whose mission is to advocate policies and provide services that strengthen the ability of air carrier airports to serve their passengers, customers and communities.
The scholarships, awarded annually by the Association’s committee of airport commissioners from airports in the U.S. and Canada, are designed to recognize students with high academic achievement who are working toward a career in airport management or airport operations. Up to three annual scholarships may be awarded in amounts up to $5,000 per recipient. The ACI-NA Commissioners Committee has awarded over thirty scholarships totaling more than $80,000 over the past decade.Students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and who meet a number of academic criteria are eligible to apply.

JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT POSTS OCTOBER STATISTICS
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in October 2006 as compared to October 2005. In October 2006, the Airport served 807,074 passengers, an increase of 1.4% when compared to the October 2005 passenger traffic count of 796,249.
Commercial Carrier flight operations increased 2.1%, while Commuter Carrier (air taxi) operations increased 0.2% when compared to the same levels recorded in October 2005.
Total aircraft operations increased in October 2006 as compared to the same month in 2005. In October 2006, there were 30,020 total aircraft operations (take-offs and landings), an increase of 2.3% when compared to 29,353 total aircraft operations in October 2005.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 70.4% of the total aircraft operations during October 2006, increased 2.4% when compared to October 2005.
JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT OPENS OASIS GRILL & SKY LOUNGE
SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Jetsons-themed Oasis Grill & Sky Lounge made its official opening at John Wayne Airport last week. Operated by HMSHost Corporation, a world leader in retail and dining in the travel industry, the Oasis Grill & Sky Lounge concept was created by Orange County’s own celebrity chef/restaurateur, David Wilhelm.
The breakfast, lunch and dinner menus feature American fare including appetizers, sandwiches, burgers and large salads. For breakfast, travelers may feast on Chilaquiles – scrambled eggs with Ortega chiles, tortillas, cheddar cheese and sour cream, and Shrimp Louis or Brown Derby Cobb salads or the Palm Springs Club sandwich for lunch or dinner. In addition, Oasis Grill & Sky Lounge will offer carry-out items for travelers who want great food on the go.

MORE TO COME: JWA is embarking on a number of renovations and improvements at the Thomas F. Riley Terminal – new concessions, more parking, and eventually a third terminal. After more than 16-years since the Terminal’s opening, passengers are seeing a variety of new options for their shopping and dining needs. Last November, the food court was renovated to become Brioche Dorée, earlier this year Wolfgang Puck Express to-go kiosks were added in Terminals A and B and most recently, what once was the Orange Grill, the Airport’s only full-service restaurant, has reopened as Oasis Grill and Sky Lounge. In addition, Hudson News has opened a news wall in Terminal A and will be opening the newly renovated Hudson News & Gift store, as well as a specialty concession featuring brand names Sunglass Hut and Life Is Good by the end of the year.
