Public Hearing for Re-evaluated Environmental Impact Statement for New Runway held July 6
On July 6, 2006, the Federal Aviation Administration, Landrum and Brown, and airport staff conducted a public hearing to discuss the re-evaluated EIS for the third parallel runway. The meeting, held at Adam Service Center, involved over 20 participants. The FAA presented information regarding the statement and addressed questions.
Citizens can review the draft written re-evaluation at five locations: the aviation department office, Freedom Regional Library, West Boulevard Branch Library, the library's main branch and Steele Creek Branch Library.
The FAA's next steps are to:
gather the public comments, publish the final written re-evaluation including comments received by 7/20/2006;
issue the decision on the written re-evaluation (estimated to occur in August)
