TRANSPORT SERVICE FOR DISABLED:
The Rotary Club of Torino Dora, SAGAT Turin Airport (the company responsible for the management of Torino Caselle Airport), the Council for Disadvantaged Persons and the company San Marco-Rolfi have reached an agreement for the launch of a transport service for disabled persons to and from the airport and city of Turin for a unified charge.
It is currently possible for municipalities within the city limits to take advantage of the service whereas the extension of the service to other municipalities within the Province of Turin is in its final development stages.
The service is provided by means of a Citroën Jumper vehicle equipped to transport three disabled persons in wheelchairs and four disabled persons able to walk, with the assistance of specially-trained voluntary personnel from the association of the Council for Disadvantaged Persons.
The vehicle is located outside the airport building (Arrivals level, just in front the First Aid office) in a specially-reserved area easily accessible to disabled users.
Disabled passengers wishing to use the new service should call +39.011.0015320, the number provided by “Rete 119”, an integrated service aimed at disadvantaged citizens in Turin and the greater Turin area.

6.9% upswing in flights.
A 7.9% decline in charter passengers offset by strong growth of 26.8% in General Aviation passengers.
Excellent results achieved by new low-cost flights activated in recent weeks
(load factor of 80%).
Caselle T.se, January 15 2007 – A new record for Torino Caselle airport. In 2006, passengers totalled 3,260,974, a year-over-year increase of 3.6%. Flights moved from 56,890 in 2005 to 60,838 in 2006 with an increase of 6.9%.
National flights carried 1,726,531 passengers, 1.6% higher than in 2005, while international flights achieved an increase of 7.4%, with 1,214,213 passengers. Traffic to Rome, with 863,360 passengers, increased by 6.4% in relation to 2005. The good performance of other national destinations, in particular Pescara (+27.8%) and Trapani (+24.6%) is worth noting.
Direct traffic towards European hubs moved up 11.5% from 664,839 passengers in 2005 to 741,268 in 2006. In particular, opening of Air One’s new link to Paris, alongside Air France’s historic service, contributed to forging the 11.3% upswing in passengers to this destination. Thanks to the three airports connected from Torino Caselle (Gatwick, Stansted and Luton), London reconfirmed its position as foreign destination with the highest traffic, with 270 thousand passengers.
New, major destinations were opened during year just ended. From May 28, Royal Air Maroc has transported more than 8 thousand passengers to and from Casablanca while, in March 2006, Sky Europe started to operate a new flight three times a week to Kracow (with around 21 thousand passengers transported) and from December 26, a twice-weekly flight to Prague (431 passengers transported on the first two flights).
In their first weeks of operation, Ryanair flights to Dublin and Brussels Charleroi achieved excellent results with a load factors of 80%.
Charter traffic accounted for almost 263 thousand passengers with, however, an all-round decrease of 7.9% in relation to 2005 due to reduced scheduling of snow flights by European tour operators in the period of the Winter Olympics.
Lastly, the General Aviation sector (air taxis, tourist and business flights) achieved an increase of 26.8%, also stimulated by the up-to-date facilities and services provided by the new dedicated terminal constructed for the Torino 2006 Winter Olympics.
