Taxi, Bus, Van & Limo Transportation:

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport offers a variety of transportation options. Each has certain advantages and each calculates rate of fare in a slightly different way. It is recommended that you determine your approximate fare before you start your trip.

Fare Calculation

All rates of fare in this guide are the maximum rates allowed under contract with the airport. Actual rates may be less. Discussion with drivers is encouraged. Many will negotiate. Current rates should also be posted on the outside of each vehicle.

Taxis:

Three taxi companies have contracted with Sky Harbor Airport to provide service to our travelers for the following rates. There are no extra charges for more than one in the party or for baggage. You may choose any taxi you wish from the waiting line. The three companies are: AAA Cab (602) 437-4000, Allstate (602) 275-8888 and Discount (602) 266-1110.

Time Scheduled Vans:

One company, SuperShuttle, operates 24 hours a day on a time scheduled basis. It offers airport-to-door service. Vans depart at least every 15 minutes to all areas of the Valley from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with lesser frequencies from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Fares are charged on a flat rate to each sector of geographic area. (Note: Current rates are probably lower. Check rate on outside of vehicle or contact company). Call (602) 244-9000/voice or (602) 243-7786/TDD, for reservations.

Limousines:

Unscheduled limousines offer airport-to-door service. Rates are set according to the address being within a given "zone." Zones are set at five mile increments from the airport.

Presently, these limousine companies offer service to travelers: AAA, AM, Affordable, Aries, Arizona Chauffeur, Carmel, Empire, Esquire, Luxe, Manhattan, Monarch, Prince and TLC. Their rates include one or two in a party to the same address. The rate for three or more in one party to the same address is $7 for each additional passenger.

Passengers are free to negotiate with the drivers for a lower rate, especially if the person waits for other passengers to load who will "share the fare."

Passengers can also lease the limousine for an hourly rate of $30 per hour. There is a two hour minimum charge for the rate.

VIP or Prearranged:

A number of companies operate from Sky Harbor as private carriers. If you prefer service from a particular company, check to see if they are permitted to operate from the airport. If you make reservations for private transportation, verify with the carrier as to where they will be loading at the airport.

Buses:

Phoenix Transit Bus

Red Line and #13 provide lift-equipped transportation to and from the airport and throughout the metropolitan area. For city-wide route information and schedules call 253-5000/voice or 261-8208/TDD, pick up a copy of the Bus Book available at the Information Desk in any terminal, or visit www.valleymetro.org.

Dial-A-Ride

Available to seniors and people with disabilities seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.. To reserve your ride call 253-4000/voice or call the Arizona Relay Service 231-0961/TDD. Cabs and private van services are offered by several different companies in the Phoenix area. Also, many hotels and resorts offer free transportation for their guests to and from Sky Harbor. A courtesy phone center is located adjacent to the baggage claim areas at the passenger terminals or check with your accommodation provider for details.

Courtesy

Many hotels and resorts provide free pick-up service for their patrons. Check with your place of accommodation for more information on their service. A courtesy phone center for many hotels and resorts is located adjacent to the baggage claim areas at the passenger terminals.

Service for People with Disabilities

Taxis and limousines will transport passengers with disabilities who use wheelchairs at no additional charge if wheelchairs or other appliances can be folded to fit in the trunk with luggage.

Lift-equipped service is available for passengers who use wheelchairs at no additional charge on SuperShuttle. Passengers wishing this service may call 244-9000 (1-800-331-3565 outside Arizona, 243-7786/TDD) for reservations.

Accessible van service is provided by several private companies. You will need to contact each VIP, prearranged or courtesy carrier individually to inquire whether they provide service for people with disabilities and what their rates are. View our Special Needs Page.

Inter-Terminal Bus Service

A system of inter-terminal buses make it easy to get from one terminal to another and to/from the economy parking lots to the terminals. This service is free and runs continuously 24 hours a day. Between midnight and 6:00 AM pick ups are somewhat less frequent.

There are two routes; one serves the West Economy Parking Lot and all terminals, the other serves the East Economy Parking Lot and all terminals. Buses are green and white and identified as either the East or West route. If you are transferring between terminals, take either bus. But if you're going to an economy parking lot, you must use the bus that services that lot.

Each route is a continuous loop with several stops. Near each bus stop is a green & white sign displaying the route and stops.

IMPORTANT RENTAL CAR CHANGES

The new Rental Car Center is now open! This brand new facility accommodates all airport rental car companies, their rental counters, and vehicles.

Upon arrival in Phoenix, please proceed to the airport curb at the baggage claim level. Look for the Rental Car Shuttle pick up area, which will take passengers to the center to rent vehicles. Rental car counters are no longer located in the terminals.

All rental car companies now use a common, multi-colored “Rental Car Shuttle” bus. Customers no longer have to look for individual rental car company buses.

To Access the Rental Car Center

From I-10 East: Use the Washington/Jefferson St. Exit 148. Go south (straight) on the frontage road to Sky Harbor Circle North and turn right. Follow the signs to the facility. From I-10 West: Use the Buckeye Road Exit 149 and turn left on Buckeye Road. Take Buckeye Rd. to Sky Harbor Circle south and turn left. Follow the signs to the facility. From the airport: Follow the signs for the Rental Car Center through the airport to the facility.

If you would like to learn how the Rental Car Center will make it easier to rent a vehicle and what that process will be like once the facility opens, download an informational pamphlet.

Lost and Found

Please remember to keep all personal items with you at all times. With increased security measures in place, the security checkpoints are a common location for passengers to forget items. It is imperative that all passengers be aware of this, and remember to retrieve all personal items before continuing on to their destination.

However, if you misplace an item here are some tips that may help you locate it.

1. Items left on an airplane are the responsibility of the individual airlines.

2. Lost items in any other area may have been turned into the Sky Harbor Lost and Found office. The Sky Harbor Lost and Found office is located in the annex building just west of the Operations Center, between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. Our address is 3300 E. Sky Harbor Blvd. Phoenix, Arizona 85034. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and our phone number is (602) 273-3307.

Sky Harbor Interfaith Chaplaincy

A Place of Comfort and Aid

Travel is often a part of the most important and moving events of your life: your best friend's wedding, your brother's first baby, your grandmother's 100th birthday! We know, too, that there are times you travel for more difficult reasons--the death of a beloved uncle, a friend's quickly failing health or a troubling legal issue — or times you have to travel on a holy day.

At times like these, Sky Harbor offers you a place of comfort and aid to reflect, regroup, rest or reach out.

Our Mission

Our mission is to give witness to the love, concern and understanding of God in this place.

Our chapel allows travelers and employees to stop for quiet reflection and prayer and offers an opportunity for prayer for those working and traveling on their Sabbath.

"Our chaplains offer a caring presence in moments of stress."

Our understanding professional and volunteer chaplains offer a caring presence in moments of stress. We're there to help you relate faith to life, and to offer counsel and guidance and prayer with all, and for all, who pass through our door.

In addition, the Sky Harbor Interfaith Chaplaincy provides:

emergency assistance to people needing help response to airport emergencies and accidents hosting of A.A. meetings every Friday in the chapel conference room.

The All-Faiths Chapel is on level 3 in the Barry M. Goldwater Terminal 4.

2nd Pet Park Now Available for Passengers Traveling With Pets:

Passengers traveling with pets through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport now have another place to give them a bathroom and water break. The “Paw Pad” just west of Terminal 3 is officially open to the public.

This is the second such pet park at the airport. The first, next to Terminal 4, is called the “Bone Yard” and was so popular that another one was requested for those travelers using Terminal 3. The Paw Pad is a fenced area for dogs to stretch their legs after a long flight. It offers water spigots and bowls, “mutt mitts” for cleaning up after a pet and, of course, a red fire hydrant. The park is not only functional, but attractive with paw shaped decorations adhered to the fence and a framed archway at the entrance.

14th Life Saved with

AED at Sky Harbor

Once again, Sky Harbor’s AED program has proven to be

a lifesaver. On May 10, a University of Arizona doctor, an

off-duty Scottsdale Fire paramedic and two Phoenix

Police officers used an Automated External

Defibrillator and CPR to save the life of 54-year-old

Joseph Horbaczewski. He was waiting for his luggage

in Terminal 4 when he collapsed. Dr. James

Dahle and off-duty Scottsdale paramedic Sonia

Jones were nearby and immediately began treatment.

Mr. Horbaczewski had no pulse and was not

breathing. Dr. Dahle called for a bystander to

retrieve a nearby AED, which was hanging on

the wall in baggage claim. Phoenix Police

Airport Bureau Officers Ken Lapka and

Cary Immel arrived as Dr. Dahle was administering

the AED. Officer Lakpka helped

with rescue breathing while Officer Immel

secured the patient’s luggage and helped

locate his

wife.

Even though this was the second AED save that

Officer Lapka has been involved in at Sky Harbor, he

was still amazed at how alert Mr. Horbaczewski was

when he regained consciousness. “He was carrying on a

conversation and wanted to get up and walk around,” said

Officer Lapka.

Phoenix Firefighters from Sky Harbor’s Station 19 arrived

shortly after Mr. Horbaczewski regained consciousness and

applied oxygen and an intra-venous tube. Phoenix Fire Captain

Kevin Boyle says this drives home the importance of AED’s and CPR

training. “If I hadn’t witnessed this, I would not have believed it,” said

Captain Boyle.

This was the first time Officer Immel had ever been involved in an AED

save. “I always thought it was a great idea when Sky Harbor installed the AEDs,

but after being a part of a save, I have a heightened sense of appreciation,” said

Officer Immel.
